Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy

Jin Shin Jyutsu, translated as the Art of the Creator Through Compassionate Man, is an ancient form of energy therapy that originated from Japan. It is based on the theory that there is life energy circulating throughout the universe and moves through each living organism and through the body, following a predefined pathway. Along this energy pathway are 26 safety energy locks acting as circuit breakers, which will shut down when the body is overstressed, abused or tensed. Thereby, causing blockages along the energy pathways and restricting the flow of energy.

To restore the natural flow of energy and release the safety energy locks, our hands are used as jumper cables. The Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner places their hands on the site of the appropriate safety energy lock, similar to how one might use jumper cables to recharge a worn down car battery. It does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles, or the use of drugs or substances.

During a session with a certified practitioner, the client reports a deep sense of relaxation or energy. A session can focus on helping a particular issue or project that the client presents with or for relaxation or energizing. Jin Shin Jyutsu is very much a part of integrative and complementary therapy. It supports health promotion and wellness and the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
